Seyoum Melese Eshetie is currently working as a researcher at Space Science and Geospatial Institute of Ethiopia. His research lies at the intersection of geospatial technology, climate change and public health. He develops methods and techniques to efficiently exploit geospatial data for addressing environmental and public health challenges. Seyoum has actively participated in various international workshops related to Climate Change and Health Policy. This involvement has allowed him to gain valuable insights into the intersection of climate change and health, as well as the policies and strategies needed to address these issues at national and global levels. By actively engaging in these workshops, Seyoum has demonstrated a strong commitment to staying informed about the latest developments in this field and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and solutions in Climate Change and Health Policy.
He has also taught Geospatial Sciences at Addis Ababa and Hawassa Universities, Ethiopia. He earned M.Sc. degree in Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics (with Distinction), and Bachelor degree in Geography and Environmental Studies (with Distinction) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He has additionally received the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for his Master's degree in Cartography from the Technical University of Munich (Germany), Vienna University of Technology (Austria), Technical University of Dresden (Germany), and University of Twente (Netherlands).
