Amon Karanja

Dr. Karanja is an Agriculture Climate Scientist and a PhD in climatology degree holder of Egerton University. Dr. Karanja has expansive experience in climate change adaptation and low carbon development advocacy, women and youth empowerment capacity building and training. He is well-versed in matters of climate change and Health, Climate Smart Innovation, management and practice for improved food systems. He has undertaken interdisciplinary research individually and in a consortium on drought adaptations, food systems and value addition. He recently completed a project on transforming research finding into policy brief at the International Livestock Research Institute. Dr. Karanja has supervised various postgraduate projects on Climate Smart Agriculture, Cassava value chain and land use change detections. Dr. Karanja is a member of the Kenya Meteorological Society. The principals of just and equitable climate change adaptation form the foundation of his personal convictions and motivations.
