Dr. Abiodun Paul Afolabi is an emerging scholar from the Global South, dedicated to advancing the understanding of climate change and its ethical implications. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from Rhodes University, South Africa, where he was a recipient of the prestigious Allan Gray Center for Leadership Ethics Doctoral Scholarship (2019–2021). Currently, he serves as a faculty member at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Nigeria, and holds a Research Associate position at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
With nearly a decade of experience in higher education, Dr. Afolabi has made significant contributions to teaching and research, mentoring numerous philosophy students in Nigeria and South Africa. His recent work involves collaboration with Indigenous climate research groups in South Africa, Canada, and Germany, reflecting his deep commitment to addressing climate justice and sustainability challenges. His research interests span applied ethics, climate change ethics, migration, global justice, and bio-politics, with a particular focus on the unique development and justice issues facing vulnerable populations, especially within African contexts.
