Henry Semakula

Dr. Henry Musoke Semakula is a Medical Geographer and Lecturer in the Department of Geography, Geo-informatics and Climatic sciences, Makerere University. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Dalian University of Technology, China. He received an Msc in Advanced Human Ecology and Msc in Human Ecology from Vrije Universitiet Brussels, Belgium as well as an Msc in Water resource management from University of Bergen, Norway. He received a Post graduate diploma in environmental journalism and communication and Bachelor of environmental management from Makerere University. Henry’s research interests include nutrition and food security, epidemiology, environmentally-mediated infectious diseases, human health impact of environmental and climate change, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and the related neglected tropical diseases. His work has also expanded to understand the impact of climate change on human health in refugee settlements of Uganda. More recently, Henry has published 2 articles on Ugandan refugees in relation to malaria infections.
