Deborah Zion

Deborah Zion is the Chair of the Victoria University Human Research Ethics committee, and the coordinator of the PhD subject Research Integrity and Ethics. She holds a PhD in Human Bioethics from Monash University, where she taught in medicine and Public Health for many years. She has published widely on research ethics, the human rights of asylum seekers, Indigenous ethics, and issues related to ethical practice and infectious diseases. In 2010 she and her team were shortlisted for the Eureka prize and the Mark S. Ehrenreich Prize for ethics. She was also shortlisted for this prize in 2012 and again in 2020.
