Admire Nyamwanza
Admire is a researcher currently working at the Institute of Natural Resources (INR) in South Africa as a Principal Scientist. He has over 15 years’ experience of working on cross-cutting social, economic, policy, environmental and institutional issues focused on climate risk management, climate change and health, adaptation and food security in Africa. Admire has a PhD in Development Policy and Management from the University of Manchester and he has received grants (as principal investigator and co-investigator) from global research funders and national government departments which include Wellcome Trust, Grand Challenges Canada, International Development Research Centre (IDRC), United Kingdom’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), and South Africa’s National Departments of Agriculture; Environment; and Social Development. He has conducted and led technical and multidisciplinary research projects in both stable and fragile contexts with primary fieldwork research experience in South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Mozambique. Admire has published over 25 scientific articles which include journal articles, book chapters and occasional papers. He has also led the writing of numerous project reports.
