Dr. Umar Ibrahim is an accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in clinical and preventive health services, research, teaching, and community service. His expertise in Community Health and Global Health Governance has led to significant contributions across Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. He is particularly focused on addressing public health challenges through transdisciplinary collaborations, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Dr. Umar is a lecturer at Federal University Dutse (FUD), Nigeria, and holds faculty positions at Kampala International University (KIU), Uganda, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He is also affiliated with the African Health and Research Organization in Glasgow, Scotland. His leadership roles include serving as an Executive Board Member for the African Institute for Development Professionals, AfreHealth, and AfroPHC, as well as being the former Sub-Saharan Africa focal person for the Planetary Health Alliance at Harvard University. An expert in e-learning, course development, and mentoring, Dr. Umar excels in human resource management and policy influence across multiple sectors. His research is published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he regularly presents at international conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for several journals, including those linked to the Consortium for Universities in Global Health (CUGH). Dr. Umar’s work is driven by a commitment to health equity and social justice, focusing on improving the well-being of vulnerable populations. He holds advanced degrees in Global Health Governance, Community Health, and Public Health.
